Nardo Visgo Vinyl Chalkboard Wall Decal review: Turns any wall into a chalkboard

Introduction:

Welcome to my Nardo Visgo Vinyl Chalkboard Wall Decal review. Up until a few months ago, I had no idea things like this existed until I reviewed my first one, since then many of these have appeared on the market and today i am looking at one by Nardo Visgo.

Design and quality:

Out of the box you get a rolled up tube that is holding 18 X 78.8 inches of vinyl chalkboard that can be stuck to almost any smooth surface in your house or business. This size allows for designing your own shape or simply sticking the board on one or more walls. All you need to make your own shaped chalkboard wall area is a pair of scissors and a steady hand. In my house, we have taken up a medium-sized wall in the playroom with this.

The material used for the board is vinyl which is both thick and durable. This gives me confidence that the product will last quite some time, even with little hands dragging chalk across its surface. Around the back of the board is a sticky surface backing that can be applied to most smooth surfaces such as walls or doors.

The board also comes with four sticks of chalk, two of which are white, one of which is yellow and one of which is turquoise. These aren’t any normal sticks of chalk though, well they are but they are also slightly different as they come in a really handy twist style case that ensures the chalk can be used without that inevitable chalk snapping that happens with unprotected chalk. The cases are simple to use, simply turn the dial at the top clockwise to increase the amount of chalk sticking out and turn it anti-clockwise to decrease the chalk popping out from the end. Once the chalk has completely gone, you can simply reload the cover with a new stick of chalk.

The overall quality of the board and the chalk is fantastic and I really have no complaints at all. It’s a well-made set that looks and feels like it is going to last quite a while.

Installation:

Installing this board really isn’t a hard job. it’s simply a case of measuring the surface you are planning to use and cutting the board to size. Once this is done you simply remove the sticky back padding and very slowly and gently you apply the board to the surface, ensuring to smooth out any air bubbles as you make your way across. This process took me all of 10 minutes to correctly do and the end result was fantastic.

If you fancy getting a bit more creative and want to create your own shape or shapes of chalkboard then you’ll be happy to know that the cover protecting the sticky backing has a grid layout that aids you in cutting the vinyl down to the sizes and shapes you require.

In use:

This chalkboard is set up, in my son’s playroom and gets quite a bit of use. It’s brilliant for drawing on and even doing some learning activities. The provided chalk is also fantastic as usually we always end up with broken chalk sticks, but thanks to the protective casings, these chalks are still intact.

Cleaning the board off is easy enough, but results are always better with a damp cloth instead of a dry one. Since this isn’t 100% the same material used as a tradional chalkboard, just wiping off with a dry cloth doesn’t have a full effect.

Overall:

This is a fantastic chalkboard wall sticker that is easy to use, large enough for a medium wall and can even be cut into many sizes and shapes. It comes with fantastic chalk sticks that are inside a reusable plastic protective case.

DISCLOSURE:

I received this product for free in return for my honest and unbiased review. This has had no effect on my overall opinion of the product.
