Doosl Wireless Presentation Remote review

Presentations can be daunting enough and what makes them even worse is having to sit at a computer using a mouse, while trying to engage with the audience. The Doosl wireless presentation remote has been designed to make sure you can fully engage with your audience, while still being able to control your slides, while actually standing up instead of being sat at a computer.

It’s a fairly simple looking device with four buttons on the front, a volume rocker on one side and a power switch on the other. It’s shaped very much like a pen and even has a shirt clip to clip it to your shirt pocket or collar. There’s also a very handy laser pointer at the top, which is used to point your audience to certain areas of your slide. The only issue I have with the design is that it’s quite small, so when you have large hands, it can be a bit uncomfortable.

The Doosl wireless presentation remote is powered by a single AAA battery. One comes also provided in the package, so you’re pretty much ready to get on with it, without having to pop to a supermarket beforehand.

Setting the Doosl wireless presentation remote up with a PC or any other device for that matter is so quick and simple a 5-year-old could do it. Since its plug and play, all you have to do is take the USB receiver (which is safely stored in the bottom of the remote) and plug it into any available USB port on your device. Once done, you are able to instantly to use the remote to navigate your slides. Connectivity is stable and with 100 meters working distance, there’s no reason you should have any issues at all.

Using the Doosl wireless presentation remote in a presentation is really straightforward. The remote has four buttons on the front of which three have multiple uses, for example pressing the up arrow button moves the slide up a page, holding it down for two seconds plays a slide. It’s not at all complicated and the included manual describes it quite well.

The remote works great. I have used it for a few test slides and each time, I have not had any issues with it. All the buttons respond as you would expect and the laser pointer points as straight as you allow it.

Overall the Doosl wireless presentation remote is a fairly decent device to have for anyone who does a lot of presentations. It’s simple to use, is as portable as can be and even clips onto a shirt for that finishing professional touch.

Pros:

  • Easy to use
  • Clips onto a shirt
  • Plug and play
  • Battery included

Cons:

  • Small size, not so large hand friendly
