Welcome to my AudioMX 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset review. This is an affordable headset that offers style, comfort and 7.1 surround sound.
Design and comfort:
This is really is a stylish looking headset. It’s made mostly from plastic but does still feel strong and sturdy. I particularly love the way the microphone is built into the headset. Instead of being fixed onto the front of the left earcup, it actually retracts in and out of the casing so you can either have it out for use or slide in out of the way.
The headset automatically adjusts to fit most sizes of head. This means there’s no messing about adjusting the size every time someone else might use the headset. This works by having the headband attached to each earcup using strong metal wires. Combine this automatic adjustment with the soft padding you get a sort of comfortable experience. The padding on the headband isn’t the thickest and also isn’t the comfiest I have come across in a gaming headset, in fact, it looks thin and cheap but does do the job it’s supposed to do.
The padding on the earcups is thicker than the padding on the headband. Again not the thickest I have come across on a gaming headset but still gets the job done.
The cable on this headset is braided with nylon to ensure the cable strength is at its best, which in turn means the cable will last a lot longer and shouldn’t break as easily as a normal rubber cable. Halfway down the cable is a control box that has a volume dial, a light button and a microphone power button. Notably missing is a bass enhancement button, which is something I have come across on all of my previous 7.1 surround headsets so this is a bit of a letdown as it means there’s no way to enhance the bass for a better experience. In terms of length, the cable is only about a meter long which is a shame as it means you have to be up close to whatever device you have this connected to.
Also, present in this headset are LED lights, which are present on each earcup. These can be turned on or off. They only have color though and that is orange. When on they look really cool, but even when the LED’s are off the headset is still stylish.
Sound and microphone quality:
The sound produced by these is really good. it’s clear and doesn’t miss a beat at all when listening to my favorite songs through my PC. The bass is brilliant and really makes it feel likes there’s a party in my head. The same can be said for gaming as well. In games, I have been able to hear clearly and even figure out where somebody may be thanks to the 7.1 surround sound mode. I can also clearly hear when somebody insults me down the line because I got them in the game.
The microphone works really well as well and since it can be positioned close to the mouth, it’s even perfect for quiet speakers like myself. When talking through this my teammates can hear me clearly with no issues at all.
This headset is fantastic. It does have its issues though such as thin padding and the short cable length. The sound quality is brilliant and the microphone works really well.
I received this product at a discounted price in return for my honest and unbiased review. This has had no effect on my overall opinion of the product.
